In the beginning days of diving on Bonaire,
when boats were not abundant, divers used ropes to “rappel” down a vertical cliff into the water. In the waterline, there is a large overhang.
This dive can be done with climbing gear (makes for a cool adventure). Lower the gear by rope, rappel down, gear up and dive. At the end of the dive, gear off and attach to rope, climb up and hoist the gear up along the wall. The reef is a stunning vertical wall with several small caverns. Depth management is important here. There is a mooring buoy that helps in navigation. Make the dive along the deep wall and come back more shallow to find the buoy and exit.
