48. Salt Pier

Salt Pier

We love taking guided dives to the Salt Pier. Big schools of fish reside here and are part of the most exuberant marine life of the island. Although it does not have the best reef of the island, this is disguised by the fact that the Salt Pier attracts many interesting sea creatures.

The pier doesn’t need much introduction

but still a lot of divers descend to 30mtr/90ft, coming up with remarks like not understanding the popularity….. It’s all between the stilts of the pier construction! Countless colorful fish and sponges, creatures inhabit the bottom underneath and you will find numbers of large tarpons, barracudas and snappers. Seahorses can be found at the base of the stilts and sea turtles and rays often pass by in the shallow parts.
- When diving this site from the tiny adjacent beach between two large rocks, you can navigate the pier and cover a wide shallow coral area, offering more sea turtles.

NO DIVING WHEN A SHIP IS DOCKED – check marine traffic apps or sites before going!
